The Montaro pen is a prefilled, once-weekly injection. If prescribed, you inject it under the skin of your stomach, thigh, or upper arm. You'll get step-by-step instructions, and your provider can offer added guidance.
The most common side effects—nausea, vomiting, upset stomach, stomach pains, constipation, and diarrhea—often ease within the first few weeks and may return briefly when your dose increases.
